Alto Los Romeros wines from Luis Felipe Edwards. Easy drinking and unbeatable value range of Chilean wines.

The grapes for this wine come from Chile's winegrowing heartland- the Central Valley, and are expertly managed to enhance the fruit characteristics. Yellow in color with golden highlights. On the nose shows notes of white fruits and pineapple, and a touch of almonds from precise contact with lightly toasted French oak. On the palate it shows a refreshing acidity with a good initial attack, followed with a creaminess and unction in the midpalate, lending to a well-balanced and fresh wine.

Quaffable easy drinking Chardonnay. Try with Pasta and Risotto.

"Parcels of fruit were fermented separately in large format French and German oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was introduced to balance the wines acidity. After maturing in barrel for 9 months the wines were tasted and blended. Further aging in tank on light lees added greater complexity before bottling. This Marlborough Chardonnay shows wonderful complexity, fresh aromas & flavours of citrus, stonefruit and hints of Hazlenuts with a long, focused finish"

Ata Rangi (Martinborough) 2021 Potiki Chardonnay

Commercial description
"This is a youthful wine that’s delicious drinking now, but it will also reward further with cellar age.Pōtiki, meaning ‘last born’ in Maori, is blended from a selection of newer plantings and some of our more established blocks on the Martinborough Terrace.Hand-picked fruit was whole bunch pressed, with the unsettled juice fully barrel fermented in Burgundy 300L puncheon barrels (20% new) using indigenous yeasts. Partial malolactic. Aged in barrel on lees for 13 months.  Barrel fermented in 300 litre puncheons with indigenous yeasts. The 2020 vintage Is concentrated and detailed, balanced with vibrant acidity. The aroma is a wonderful blend of fennel notes, rock melon and citrus blossom. The palate is focused, with a salty, mineral line that finishes with flavours of fresh white almond."

Bay and Barnes (Australia) 2022 Chardonnay

Made by the good folks at Giesen Wines from selected Australian fruit.

Following harvest, fruit was gently pressed before settling. Specially selected yeasts were used to start fermentation. From there the wine matured on French oak for eight months with regular lees stirring to maximise flavour.

Enjoy this Chardonnay with a group of friends or match with a classic pasta or risotto.

Carrick Bannockburn Chardonnay is produced from the Cairnmuir Vineyard. It is barrel fermented ( primarily in older oak), using natural yeast, and demonstrates the elegance and minerality of a quality Chardonnay.

An attractive nose with plenty of citrus, mealy oak, stone and tropical fruit aromas. The palate is textural, precise and long. The lush ripe fruit is finely balanced by a crisp clean acidity giving the wine beautiful balance and good focus. A wine with rich minerality, excellent length and a mouthwatering sweet fruit finish that is slightly creamy.

"For his premium Chardonnay label, winemaker Tim Turvey aims for a 'big, grunty, upfront' style – and hits the target with ease. Hand-picked from mature vines at Te Awanga, it is fermented and matured in French oak casks (typically 40 to 50 per cent new). Already enjoyable, the 2021 vintage is a bright, light yellow/green, fresh, mouthfilling wine, with rich, vibrant, stonefruit flavours, slightly toasty and buttery notes adding complexity, and a very finely balanced, lengthy finish. The wine has beautiful stone-fruit and ripe pear characters on the nose with some citrus undertones. The palate shows a tight mid-palate with flinty characters that lead into a complex and juicy finish. Good balance from the toasty oak character that compliments the fruity structure. This wine drinks very well on release but will develop and evolve over the next 5-7 year

The Giesen team have done it again bringing to the table a chardonnay that is increddible value, using selected Australian fruit.

Vibrant and fleshy with aromas of summer stonefruit and baked bread. Flavours of crisp apple and nectarine with light oak and minimal butterieness.

Mt Difficulty (Otago) 2019 Roaring Meg Chardonnay

"Roaring Meg Chardonnay 2019 supple with flavours of nectarine and citrus introducing the wine. A textured soft mid-palate draws you into the wine. White fleshed peach drives the finish alongside a hint of phenolic interest. Generous and giving."

Fruit was hand-picked at peak ripeness on the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 11th and 12th of April, from Bannockburn, Pisa and Bendigo. The fruit was handled in an oxidative fashion, destemmed and pressed to concrete egg. We fermented 70% of the juice in egg, with the balance in old barriques, all with full solids using indigenous yeasts. Whilst maturing no lees stirring was utilised. The wine went through a full malolactic fermentation in spring, after which the barriques were stirred for a period. The wine was racked and filtered before being bottled, unfined, in March.

This Pinot Noir Rosé exhibits a gorgeous watermelon complexion. Savoury raspberry competes with rhubarb compote and hints of rose petal. Bright raspberry notes introduce the wine, these then flow into a linear mid palate and a clean mineral finish.

Rockburn Chardonnay leans towards the crisper and lighter end of the spectrum, demanding minimal use of oak.The nose is pure and subtle with elements of wet stone, lemon zest and ripe peach.  The palate is full, textural with fine tension, showing lemon meringue, butterscotch and delicate minerality and a zesty finish.
