16/20 Raymond Chan
"Full, near impenetrable, black-red colour with garnet hues on the rim. This has an elegant nose with soft red berry fruit aromas lifted by red florals, unveiling dark herb, pepper, ink and subtle reductive elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate combines flavours of sweet, dark red berry fruit with bitter cherries, along with red liquorice and jammy, confectionary notes. The mouthfeel is lively with fresh acidity, and the wine flows along a firm, grainy-textured line, leading to a lifted, dry-finish. This is a lively Shiraz with red fruit, jam and herb flavours and a dry, firm, underlying structure. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian red met dishes over the next 3+ years." Raymond Chan
Our new Shiraz from Evenwood!
Because the price of Barossa Shiraz has been going up and up we asked our friends at Evenwood if they could supply us a Shiraz that wasn't necessarily from Barossa but was just as big on quality. This outstanding wine is what they came back with. McLaren Vale is world famous for the quality of their Shiraz wines. This wine captures the McLaren Vale style perfectly. Chocolate and spice flavours with an amazing depth of rich, red fruits including an abundance of blackberries and blueberries. This wine has tonnes of staying power with a long lingering finish displaying lovely white pepper shiraz characteristics. We predict this is going to be a huge success.
