Classy oak aged Sauvignon Blacn showing a star-bright pale yellow colour. The subtle and complex nose is dominated by a very nice 'savouriness', some notes of ripe apricot, candied citrus, coffee beans and almonds. It is dry with a crisp acidity. Full bodied with a great texture, round and smooth. A racy acidity giving a nice backbone, it has a long and aromatic length. Drink now to 2017. Will be at peak in 2013/4.

 The wine is vibrant and juicy with excellent ripe varietal tastes and crisp refreshing acidity on the finish.

California was not taken seriously in the wineworld until in the 1970s. It was then that the Chardonnay from the US won several international and French awards. It was the US that made it possible for other new world wine producers to break in to markets previously impossible. New Zealand owes a lot to the American Chardonnay producers.

SOUTH ISLAND ONLY

This Sauvignon Blanc has a refreshing zing of grapefruit, closely followed by lush flavours of delicious ripe tropical fruit. The palate is bold and full, with lingering depth and flavour.
