Long Flat wine has been an Australian classic for more than 40 years.
Brick red in colour, a lovely wine with great depth of flavour. The nose shows fig and florals, red and black liquorice, cocoa and pepper. Savour the spice and plum pudding aromas, the luscious blackberry characters, and spicey oak notes. On the palate, lots of black cherry and chocolate unfold with a nice cedary core from oak ageing. Sophisticated oak characters are just discernable, providing a cedar/ charcoal-carbon backdrop against small-berried fruits. The long finish shows vanilla, blueberry and black pepper amid a minty black cherry profile. A wine with a profile of welcome supple spice, soft oak and perfect acid balance, make a generous, forward drinking and approachable Shiraz.
