13 out of 13 customers rated this wine as good value for money.

"It's easy to be seduced by this wine from the first sip, which tastes ripe, dark and impressively flavoursome with aromas of blueberry, blackberry and licorice; all of which suggest a warm climate and a late ripening grape - which is exactly what Carmenere is. It originally hails from Bordeaux in the south west of France, where only a smidgeon remains. Today, Carmenere is most plentiful in Chile. This is outrageously good value for money and a super tasty drop too with big smooth tannins, high but balanced acidity, ripe soft dark fruit flavours and a medium finish." - Joelle Thomson

Chile is the global home of Carmenere and Winesale.co.nz is excited to present these sensational wines. Our MO is to deliver the best wines for the best price and these exclusive wines are without a doubt incredible value for money!
Aromas of raspberries, blueberry and blackberry overlaid with soft spicy, earthy characters. The palate is soft and generous with velvet tannins, rich forest fruits and a smooth finish.

I liked this wine very much. I did discover it needs to breathe for a while to bring out the full flavour. I am going to try the Reserva on a friend's recommendation and see if I like it as much.

I love Carmenere grapes. Once hugely popular in France they exist now only in Sth America, a little in Aust and NZ The wine is like the reds we used to get from France in the 50's Make sure you let it breathe and with roast lamb it is heavens delight BTW this is soooooo cheap. Many other Carmeneres are $22 to $40.00 per bottle. Read about the grape on Google

New 2017 vintage and the quality just keeps on getting better without it going up in price!

Our famous 5 Star Central Otago Pinot Noir. This quality of Pinot Noir at this price has been unheard until now. Bramble, spice, doris plum and rich ripe red fruit aromatics. A delicious fruit driven style having a rounded palate of cherry flavours with a hint of chocolate and spice. Followed by a mineral, elegant palate showing great density, tension and persistence. Ideal on its own or matched with lamb or strong flavoured fish.

El Esteco (Argentina) 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
El Esteco (Argentina) 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

5 Stars - Raymond Chan "Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly presented and well-proportioned with deep and concentrated aromas of ripe blackcurrant fruit with cassis liqueur notes, herbs, savoury green olives, and refined, pencilly oak. Full-bodied, the palate features sweetly ripe and well-concentrated flavours of blackcurrants and cassis along with subtle herb notes, nuances of savoury olives and pencilly oak. The mouthfeel is fresh, firm and vibrant with good fine-grained tannin structure and lively, lacy acidity. The flavours flow with drive and energy, leading to a sustained, elegant finish of blackcurrants and herbs. This is an elegantly proportioned and well-concentrated, classical Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant and cassis fruit along with herbs, olives and pencilly oak of a fine, but firm-textured, driven palate" Raymond Chan

Sensational new arrival from Bodegas El Esteco. Winesale.co.nz is proud to be the exclusive retailer of this fine wine. Ruby red, profound and clean. Tears formed in glass indicate a very good structure and concentration. Spicy notes where black and red peppers outstand. Persistent and elegant. True exponent of a Cabernet Sauvginon from the Calchaqui Valley. Ripe and round tannins fulfill the mouth. Black fruit and chocolate notes prevail where the oak is gently integrated with the fruit. Long and elegant persistence.
