Seriously, this is a white wine without sulphur dioxide and suitable for vegans!!

Rich with flavours of honey-dew melon, peach and hints of sherbet. This wine is luscious and creamy with a silky texture balanced by crisp citrus acid. This wine will drink best while the wine is young and fresh. This wine is a perfect partner for vegetarian nibbles, light seafood or Asian inspired dishes.

Located in the Langhorne Creek district of South Australia Temple Bruer winery produces award winning wines using sound organic oenological practices. David and Barbara Bruer established a small vineyard in the early 1970's on a property situated on the main road between the towns of Strathalbyn and Milang, in the grapegrowing district of Langhorne Creek in South Australia. David was in charge of Roseworthy College's Oenology Department before becoming a full-time vigneron, while Barbara also taught chemistry at Roseworthy College and Flinders University for ten years.

This wine exceeded my expectations actually and I was so delighted to find a preservative free white, had the most amazing night with NO!! hangover and it was such a pleasant wine to drink both with or without food.

My interest in trying this wine results from other positive reviews and a desire to try an alternative to mainstream varieties. The wine is medium gold in colour with a quite strong but pleasant citris and musk bouquet. Citrus and pineapple flavours dominate the palate with noticeable acidity. However I felt the wine may have passed its peak. Certainly worth trying but for the money you can probably find examples of other varieties that are more satisfying.

Made by a winemaker in the Wairarapa who has had gold medals for all the Sauvignon blancs he has made for the last 25 vintages.
The wine is absolutely excellent. Ripe tropical fruit, a tinge of lime zest and a beautiful length of flavour.
