1 out of 1 customers rated this wine as good value for money.

A typical spicy and savoury rustic Spainish red. Great value wine from a new "old world" producer.

In 1994, Pablo Eguzkiza and Telmo Rodríguez, along with a third oenologist, created a Garnacha from old bush vineyards in Navarra. The wine was called Alma (soul). This is how the business started, originally under the name of Compañía de Vinos de La Granja.

Allow this one a bit of time in the glass (or decanter) if you want to drink it now, or better yet, allow it another 6+ years in the cellar to develop into something spectacular. This red blend (unspecified but we guessed cabernet/tempranillo/grenache) is a lovely deep purple in colour, with a nose of dusty ripe plums/cherries and a touch of pepper. The tannins are potent, drying, and rough, but diminished given some aeration. Blackberries and cherries on the taste, great balance, excellent with our steaks off the grill. This one really grew on us during the tasting process.

A fine Martinborough Pinot Noir showing sundried dark fruit and oak spice on the nose. The palate is elegant with fine tannins. Ripe succulent fruit flavours abound with svoury hints of earthy mushroom. A perfect match for savoury dishes featuring game birds, lamb or vension.

Four 1/2 Stars - Joelle Thomson
"Deliciously great value from 'the California of Tuscany' aka the warm coastal wine region of Maremma. This is made from the Sangiovese grape; famous in Chianti and offering drop dead gorgeous bright fruit flavours with a savoury twist here" Joelle Thomson
Sangiovese is "the" grape of Italy. So many great wines have been made using this hardy variety. From Chianti to the new wave of "super Tuscan" blends. This wine could easily be labeled a "baby super Tuscan". A wine well worth trying.
Bright ruby red; characteristically varietal aromatics of cherries, forest fruits and spices, lifted by subtle aromatic herbs; assertively full entry, intense yet elegant structure and extract finishing attractively long with a reprise of the fragrant fruitiness and balsamic notes.

A sensational Chianti here that really delivers. A full garnet red,  with a warm round aroma and flavours of ripe plum and spices. The palate is well balanced with soft tannins and leather and cherry characters. Beautiful with tomato pasta and rich Italian dishes.
