“Top quality wine, A big wine with a lot of stuffing, this shows what can be achieved with Riverina fruit.” Rating 95 points our off 100. RALPH KYTE-POWELL & HUON HOOKE: WINE GUIDE
Four Stars - Joelle Thomson
"Big, bold, rich and amazing value. Yes, this Aussie red is exceptionally good drinking right now but also has the ripe sweet juicy fruit flavours, tannic structure and body to last and improve for up to the next decade, possibly more if you have good cellaring conditions. It has all the bells and whistles of a great Australian Shiraz, only it's a good $10 less than you'd usually pay for this quality. Beware the 15 per cent alcohol and drink with food." Joelle Thomson
James Halliday recommended the 2005 vintage of this wine as good value and rated it at 89 Points with the following comments "A soft, but ripe, palate with sweet fruit and soft tannins; a vinous representation of the proverbial dumb blond."
Not sure what you're getting at there James but we love the 2008 vintage around here anyway!
3 Bridges Shiraz is a rich, earthy Shiraz. It is deep red brick in colour and abundant in flavour. Aromas include cherry, mocha and smoky oak with subtle hints of licorice and eucalyptus. The rich, warm palate is packed with ripe berry, spicy fruit and tobacco characters. The flavour is deep and long with good structure and plenty of grippy tannins. A fine example of Australian Shiraz that will cellar comfortably for 7 to 10 years.
