Pure Elite Gold Medal - Air New Zealand wine awards 2010 (2010 Vintage)
We are now in our second year and this wine is even better then the 2010. We will just have to wait and see when the show results come through! Grown by one of the oldest vineyards in Marlborough and made into wine by one of New Zealands leading Sauvignon Blanc specialist.

Like last year's Sauvignon Blanc, the wine is ripe , more towards the tropical flavours with the intensety of the best Sauvignons, this country has ever produced. This ripeness is evident in the alcohol, 13.5%. Brilliant balance between, fruit, acid and alcohol. A wine for the real Sauvignon affectionados.

I tasted this wine when it was still in tank. My thoughts then were: This is great. I tasted this wine when it was just bottled it was bottle shocked, my thoughts then were, this is great. Now the wine is over its bottle shock and my thoughts are, this is fantastic. I was proven right, first vintage from one of the oldest vineyards in Marlborough and it received a pure gold medal. I am proud to sell this wine, stock it, drink, it. Love it.

Must say, living in NZ we have a great selection of Sauvy Blancs at great prices. The Lowlands SB is hard to fault, no doubt reflected by its Pure Gold award. Sauvy blancs are best drunk young, so if anything buy now and drink over summer! It's pretty hard to beat this wine at this price point!

Excellent quaffer, not too challenging on the palate if you happen (like me) to be knocking it back at a party. Went really well with the quiche. Who would have thought...

Fabulous value for money and a great example of a lovely NZ Sav. We'll definitely be ordering more. Too good to miss.

Really nice drop and well priced, Great summer wine from Marlborough, worth its Gold rating. Well recommended.

We tried this wine after a particularly piercing Awetere Valley sauvignon and the initial impression was that it could lack zing. That impression was quickly dispelled after heading to the beach and opening it during a leisurely spell between cleaning freshly caught snapper and cooking up. More Wairau Valley tropical fruits but still with typical Marlborough freshness and liveliness. Long lasting flavour with the fruit and the acidity combining as the glass emptied. I thoroughly enjoyed this especially with the fresh snapper, both in preparation and with the meal. Stunning value for money at this price and a brilliant slightly riper alternative to the more nettly, acidic and zappy Marlborough savvy's.

Made by a winemaker in the Wairarapa who has had gold medals for all the Sauvignon blancs he has made for the last 25 vintages.
The wine is absolutely excellent. Ripe tropical fruit, a tinge of lime zest and a beautiful length of flavour.

Mebus Estate (Wairarapa) Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2011
The fruit for this Sauvignon Blanc was grown in the Wairarapa region. Its characteristics of gooseberry and spicy acidity were enhanced by along lingering fermentation. Great care was given to finish this wine off perfectly.
