DUNEDIN ONLY

The Long Flat Merlot is an easy drinking style making it a wine that everyone enjoys.

This Merlot displays the aroma of dark berries and green olives. The palate is rich and soft, full of dark berry and chocolate characters. We believe this is a great example of what Merlot is like as a straight varietal.

Excellent, good value for money quaffer. I buy it to cook with, but I always keep a glass or two aside for the cook (me)! Up the class of your roast and make your gravy with a generous slug of this. Avoid the packet stuff and make it like my mum used to: remove meat from roasting pan, drain off the fat and place on the element on a very low heat. Shake together half a cup of merlot and a tablespoon of plain flour, and heat in pan with roast drippings. Stir until thick and serve. If it's a bit pale, add a splash of soya sauce. That's how you make REAL gravy.

I'm trying a lot of these aussie reds at the moment, this one is good, fruit flavours plus some complexity and finish. Good solid wine, great price.

Not generally a merlot fan, but this is worth trying for a number of reasons. Chocolatey and soft being two.

A sensational Chianti here that really delivers. A full garnet red,  with a warm round aroma and flavours of ripe plum and spices. The palate is well balanced with soft tannins and leather and cherry characters. Beautiful with tomato pasta and rich Italian dishes.

A beautiful Chianti from some of the choicest Tuscan wine estates. Being a Reserva means that not only is it of the best quality, it also comes to you with all the complexities of fine bottle-aged wine. Remove the cork and you will smell a savoury red that at first may be a little wild, but given a little time, the wine displays a rich savoury characteristic balanced with flavours of sweet tobacco and perfect fine grained tannins. This superb wine is classically Italian and ready to enjoy now without any of the up-front varietal fruitiness of new world reds.
