Three 1/2 Stars - Warren Barton

"A soft and fruity Malbec under a label that means pure and clean in the ancient language of Argentina's Aymara people. A mouthful of plums and prunes, raisins and rosemary that flows effortlessly across the palate and finishes with a gentle, spicy flourish" Warren Barton

A wine that is 100% certified organic for the very affordable price of just $13.99. And boy does this wine deliver!

A wine with clear sharp and lively red with violet hues. A distinctive plum jam aroma, typical of the Malbec grape, fill the nose, complimented by raisin, vanilla and rosemary characters that make the wine very appealing. A fruity mouthful, full of soft and sweet tannins. Date and raisin stand out with a touch of nuts and spiciness at the end.

Cuma is the range of organic wines produced by Michel Torino Estate. Both the practices in the vineyards and the winery have followed strictly controlled and certified organic processes. In the vineyards the fertilizers are waste of sheep, ants are fought with diatom earth, and weeds control is with machetes, all of them natural elements. In the winery the sulphur levels are lower to those of conventional wines. Cuma means pure and clear in Aymará, the language of a tribe who inhabited the Cafayate region in the Inca's time.

For Michel Torino, organic practices are a way to reconnect to the land and an ecologicaly responsible way to contribute to the wellbeing of future generations. The expression of the wines is empowered , flavors and tastes are more intense, fresher and more natural, the grape is allowed to express itself in the most genuine way.

This is the first Organic wine I have tried which I enjoyed (although I have probably only tried 6 or so to date). Nice plum and other dark fruit flavours, with a Smooth, Spicy finish. I had this with a lamb dish and it worked well. Definitely worth the price it’s being sold at. 82/100 IMHO

Smooth easy drinking Malbec with lots of bottle age left yet. From the same producer Michel Torino who makes a non organic Malbec I actually rate this as a better wine contrasting with the reviewer. Either way you are drinking a very acceptable Malbec at under $12 so both are great value for money. We drank it with BBQ pork chops and roast vegetables / nice match On the re-order list

We had the pleasure of holidaying in Buenos Aires and discovered the joy of Argentinian Malbec. This organic example does not let the genre down.

Wow! Full of flavour and character and as one who normally has a headache after one glass of red - nothing this morning :-)

A sensational Chianti here that really delivers. A full garnet red,  with a warm round aroma and flavours of ripe plum and spices. The palate is well balanced with soft tannins and leather and cherry characters. Beautiful with tomato pasta and rich Italian dishes.

A beautiful Chianti from some of the choicest Tuscan wine estates. Being a Reserva means that not only is it of the best quality, it also comes to you with all the complexities of fine bottle-aged wine. Remove the cork and you will smell a savoury red that at first may be a little wild, but given a little time, the wine displays a rich savoury characteristic balanced with flavours of sweet tobacco and perfect fine grained tannins. This superb wine is classically Italian and ready to enjoy now without any of the up-front varietal fruitiness of new world reds.
