Bronze Medal - International Wine Challenge 2014

A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, this wine certainly shows how the Spanish can make incredibly good reds. This is a close out deal to end all close out deals. Judges notes from the IWC are - "White pepper and cherry fruits on the nose, lighter bodies with juicy raspberry and fine grippy tannins".
Members of our buying team are taking this home to impress their picky drinking buddies, and that's a fact! Don't miss out on this gem of red, very limited cases available.

“This is a great little drinker which I have bought and enjoyed personally. Great flavour, medium bodied without any coarseness. Possibly one of the best value for money reds currently available on the website. Perfect for winter quaffing!"

Gran Tesoro (Spain) 2013 Garnacha Great colour and a slow nose, but for me, a lovely lingering after taste. I have had dryer Grenache wines, but I liked the mix here with Syrah. Gave an interesting complexity which I liked very much. A Go To Wine. Value for money? 5 Stars Overall drinkability? 4 Stars

Lighter bodied but very elegant. It would pass for something much more expensive so buy some to impress your friends. I think it would age nicely for a year or two yet, if only I could keep my hands off it.

Nice, easy drinking, fruity and sweet (but not too sweet). I would recommend and will buy it again.

Such an easy all rounder, not too big for its own boots. Not so light that its an easy drink, but does not have those heavy tannins that can make reds have a slightly heavy unpleasant aftertaste. Delish!

- Sam Kim Wine Orbit
Our famous 5 Star Central Otago Pinot Noir. This quality of Pinot Noir at this price has been unheard until now. Bramble, spice, doris plum and rich ripe red fruit aromatics. A delicious fruit driven style having a rounded palate of cherry flavours with a hint of chocolate and spice. Followed by a mineral, elegant palate showing great density, tension and persistence. Ideal on its own or matched with lamb or strong flavoured fish.

El Esteco (Argentina) 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
El Esteco (Argentina) 2013 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

5 Stars - Raymond Chan "Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly presented and well-proportioned with deep and concentrated aromas of ripe blackcurrant fruit with cassis liqueur notes, herbs, savoury green olives, and refined, pencilly oak. Full-bodied, the palate features sweetly ripe and well-concentrated flavours of blackcurrants and cassis along with subtle herb notes, nuances of savoury olives and pencilly oak. The mouthfeel is fresh, firm and vibrant with good fine-grained tannin structure and lively, lacy acidity. The flavours flow with drive and energy, leading to a sustained, elegant finish of blackcurrants and herbs. This is an elegantly proportioned and well-concentrated, classical Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant and cassis fruit along with herbs, olives and pencilly oak of a fine, but firm-textured, driven palate" Raymond Chan

Sensational new arrival from Bodegas El Esteco. Winesale.co.nz is proud to be the exclusive retailer of this fine wine. Ruby red, profound and clean. Tears formed in glass indicate a very good structure and concentration. Spicy notes where black and red peppers outstand. Persistent and elegant. True exponent of a Cabernet Sauvginon from the Calchaqui Valley. Ripe and round tannins fulfill the mouth. Black fruit and chocolate notes prevail where the oak is gently integrated with the fruit. Long and elegant persistence.

Four Stars "A concentrated, cuddly red that represents great value for money" Warren Barton

Simply beautiful red wine from Argentina. We have scored a major coup securing this premium wine at an unbelievable price point.  Malbec is one of the traditional "Bordeaux varietals", having characteristics that fall between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Michel Torino (pronounced Me-shell Torino) Malbec is a fantastic example of the variety. Spend just $13.99 on this wine and you will learn why the world is raving about Argentine Malbec.
