Good food friendly wine but not too rough, you could probably get away with drinking it on it's own. At the risk of sounding like a Chianti stereotype, this is a pasta wine for me. Keep it simple - a good quality pasta topped with a homemade pesto and garlic sauce, a bottle of L'Acciano Chianti, a crisp white linen tablecloth and maybe a candle. The bottle is classic and elegant. All you gentlemen out there take note: a simple romantic dinner with a whole lot of class and very little financial outlay.
