There is something satisfyingly pretentious about lazing around drinking a bottle of Bordeaux and eating overripe cheese. Sometimes a wine and food combination is an escape from the real world and for me this was one. Oh, it has a CORK! While it took me half an hour to locate the cork screw (languishing in the back of the drawer and rusting from lack of use), it is nice to have the ceremony of opening a bottle the traditional way. Which reminds me, the Bordeaux benefits from a bit of a breathe after opening -also a forgotten art with screw-tops.
