I feel like I need to start off with a confession. When I see "organic" or "preservative free" on a wine label, I usually figure it's a gimmick to market below-average wines. Well, at least in this case, I'm definitely wrong. The mixed aromas of blackberry, cedar, vanilla, a bit of mint and pepper poured out of the glass before I had a chance to swirl. Yes, there's tons of fruit to this Shiraz, as you expect from Australia. But there's so much more - tons of cedar and spice, good tannic structure, super long finish. What a wine! I think this could age nicely over the next couple years as well, but is immensely enjoyable now. Those of you who can't deal with sulfur in your wines - rejoice! PS - this is the only wine I've found that worked well with my chile colorado!
