I'm a long time fan of Martinborough Pinot, but the price of them tends to be a killer. I don't know about you, but I can't justify cracking a $60 bottle unless it's a special occasion. Which brings us to this wine - this is a bloody good example of a Martinborough Pinot Noir without the hefty price tag. I can afford wine AND dinner! And speaking of dinner, Pinot goes well with both white or red meat so serve it with pretty much anything. This one has a bit of leather and spice so it would hold it's own well with a slab of game but it's delicate enough to enjoy with roast chicken. Apparently it will cellar well for a couple of years, but I wouldn't know because I've scoffed all mine already. Update 16/10/12: we served this at our wedding recently. Guests raved about it, and the couple of not-quite-finished bottles were stolen at the end of the night. Not a drop left over. Unfortunately.
