It had lovely fresh berry fruit flavours and is very drinkable but it really needs another few years in the bottle if you can put some away. We matched the wine with cajun blackened fish and the wine was not overpowered. Definitely on the re-order list and at a price that compares favourably to other NZ Syrahs. Glad to have tried it - we really loved this Syrah. Cherries, plums, and PEPPER on the nose and taste, really long finish, well balanced. Worked GREAT with my paprika chicken. I tried desperately to convince the other folks here that they shouldn't even bother trying any and that I would suffer through the rest myself so they wouldn't have to - going as far as to say we couldn't even dump it into the already overwhelmed wastewater system - but they saw through my ruse and the battle was on.
