4 Stars Raymond Chan

"aromas of pungent passionfruit and tropical fruit with fresh herbs and white florals, unfolding hints of minerals from the core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a fresh, softly concentrated and elegantly packed heart of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits, subtle notes of fresh herbs with white floral nuances. The palate is soft-textured and smooth flowing, with gentle, lacy acidity providing background energy and cut. This has good linearity and the wine carries to an elegant, soft, but lingering finish. This is an elegantly presented Sauvignon Blanc with gently concentrated flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruit on a smooth-flowing palate with good energy and cut."

In 1876 David Bishell travelled to New Zealand for a better life. Four years later he bought land in Marlborough, named it Caythorpe after his home village in England, and began farming. Five generations on, Caythorpe is still proudly owned and farmed by the Bishell family. Our first vineyards were planted in 1987 on some of the most fertile soils in Marlborough. Our wines are a representation of everything that makes Caythorpe unique. Estate grown and attention to detail from vineyard to the bottle ensures you will enjoy the very best of Marlborough from every glass.
