93 Points - Decanter, Rebecca Gibb MW
"Coopers Creek Albarino is sourced from Doug Bell's vineyard in Gisborne, and has been utterly convincing since its very first vintage in 2011. The most recent vintage, tasted pre-bottling, is everything you'd want from a Rias Baixas Albarino: full bodied, round and complete. It's whole-bunch pressed and fermented using only the free-run juice. Pure and delicate, it has sweet, succulent peach fruit and an almost almond-like scent, making for an alluring package". Winery note
"Albariño hails from the North West of Spain and Northern Portugal. The block was hand harvested on 24th March 2017. Tank fermentation was followed by a period of lees aging before bottling on 20th March 2018. This wine is based on free run juice from the Spanish ‘Mass Selection’ clone, with a couple of barrels of pressings blended in immediately pre-bottling to add an extra textural element.

Pure and fresh, with hints of citrus and peach. Medium bodied and zesty. This wine has a brilliant acid line and this gives the palate real length.
Perfect with seafood, chicken and paella"

Thus far, our Albariños have been aging more slowly than we expected. The wine is delightful in its youth, but may well age beautifully into the medium term."
