91 Points James Suckling (2013 vintage)
"Ripe red plum and berry characters. Hints of toasted oak and chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Solid tannins mingle well with the fruit. Nicely done, drink now"

Part of our new selection from Bodegas Valdelana. The Reserva Rioja just oozes quality and fantastic winemaking.

The Reserva is the only wine of the estate to be made by the Grandfather of the family. Isidoro Valdelana uses his experience and expertise to create this special wine the way it has always been made.

The age of the vines in this Rioja Reserva, exceed 50years and the grapes are harvested during the second week of October. 9-day alcoholic fermentation at 26º C. Extended skin-contact maceration for 12 days. Malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 24 months, using French oak barrels and American oak barrels.

On the nose, balsamic, aromatic herbs, lavender, fennel and rosemary. Perfectly integrated scents of black fruit.
a big mouth-filling wine; well-balanced acidity in the mouth, with a pleasant structure and fine tannins. A background of dark fruit, plum and chocolate, long and lingering finish.

Amazing quality, worth every cent!
