16.5 Points and 3 Stars - Raymond Chan
"Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a soft and full nose with well packed aromas of ripe dark-red berry and plum fruit entwined with cedary oak and a little eucalyptus, unfolding some liquorice notes. Medium-full bodied, the palate is sweetly rich with juicy, ripe flavours of dark-red berry fruits, plums and liquorice with some cedar and hints of eucalyptus. The tannins are soft and light, lending a supple, smooth mouthfeel with soft acidity enhancing the plushness. A little alcohol power emerges and carries the wine to a moderately lingering, light finish. This is a sweet and juicy, smooth and ripe, accessible and supple Shiraz with berry, plum, cedar and eucalypt flavours. Perfect with barbecued and roasted red meats over the next 3 years. A blend of 95% Shiraz and 5% Mataro, 55% from the McLaren Valem 30% Lower Murray and 15% Fleurieu Peninsula, vines 25-35 y.o., a portion hand-picked and fermented to 14.3% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak. A bargain South Aussie Shiraz!

Food Truck Wines was created by Nicholas Crampton and McLaren Vale winegrower Jim Zerella as high quality, varietal wines that are the perfect match to the cuisine and lifestyle of Australia. The Food Truck Shiraz blend was finalised in conjunction with the members of the Slow Food movement of the Barossa Valley - tasted with aged steaks cooked in wood-fired smokers.

Sourced from a selection of old-vine vineyards in the Seaview sub district of McLaren Vale and dry-grown low-yielding vineyards in the Lower Murray and Fleurieu Peninsula.

Winemaking: The fruit is partially hand-harvested before de-stemming and cool fermentation in small two tonne open fermenters with regular hand plunging. Matured in seasoned French oak and 20% new  for ten months before bottling.
