18/20 Points - Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
"Bright, pale gold-yellow with depth, even colour throughout. The nose is softly full, showing complexity, with aromas of citrus and stonefruit interweaved with subtle almond and floral details. Medium-bodied, aromas of grapefruit, lemon peels underlying stonefruit supported by acid tension, unfolding spice, raw almond and a touch of floral. The wine shows layers of spice, citrus peel and raw almond; acid tension injects brightness and carries fine minerals to an elegant, sustained finish. This elegant Chardonnay possesses a citrus core with spice, stony minerals and acid tension on a fine-textured palate. Match with pan-fried snapper and pork loin over the next 3-4 years. 13% alc."

Happy to have an exclusive on this stunning white Burgundy. Of course Chardonnay is king in these parts and this is a fine example of an understated complex wine.

Beautiful depth of flavour and underlying finesse that provides wonderful length and finish. Yellow plums and candied peel with a touch of lemongrass on the lengthy finish.

Fruit from Mont du Mâconnais, where limestone is prevalent. Once ripe, picking is both by hand and machine. Machine harvesting has the advantage of picking in the early hours of the morning before daylight when the temperature rises; hand picking is gentler and keeps whole bunches intact. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, wines are left to winter and undergo malolactic fermentation. The winemaker tastes each individual tank (up to 20) to select a very personalised blend for GENETIE 'Les Piliers', combining three essential elements - florals, exotic fruit flavour and the mineral. The final blend is kept on fine lees until bottling.

An extremely versatile wine; Try with meaty white fish, chicken in cream sauce, risotto, fish chowder, a traditional roast chicken with all the trimmings, or even goat's cheese.
