Johner estate wines are driven by Karl Johner. With a top winery in Germany, that focusses on Pinot Noir he then set his sights on New zealand. planting eight hectares of different clones.

Karl Johner, his wife Irene, and son Patrick have a well known winery in Germany where they were amongst the first vintners to adapt a quality regime and focus on great Burgundy style wines. With their vision to also create great Pinot Noir in New Zealand, the focus of the wines is not set to upfront fruit.

Scents of dark chocolate and almond lead to dark red brambly characters and earthy spice notes. Bright, inviting and elegant in style with a good mouth-feel and evident but silky tannins, this wine is easily enjoyed now, and will continue to reward and mature with bottle age.
