91 Points and 5 Stars - Wine Orbit
"This is intensely expressed on the nose showing passionfruit, green rockmelon, lime peel and crunchy apple characters. The palate delivers excellent fruit power and loads of tasty flavours backed by bright acidity, finishing long and refreshing. At its best: now to 2021." Wine Orbit

Taken from the indigenous language of our land, Kōpū, brings to light the journey of Venus, the Morning star rising in the east across the lush mountains and valleys of New Zealand’s rugged East coast, a land firstto see the light, to taste the inspiration of a new day.

The grapes for this wine came from two sites in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough and were machine harvested in the early hours to minimise heat damage. On delivery to the winery they were immediately destemmed and the juice cooled. Prior to fermentation the juice was left in contact with the skins for 3 hours before pressing. Fermentation ran at 12-13 ̊C in tank and the wine was bottled early without malo-lactic fermentation.
