94 Points Cameron Douglas MS (2019 vintage)
"Seductive and complex bouquet with fragrant spices, forest flowers, sweet scented white fleshed fruits, caramelised citrus, apple then honeysuckle. Weighty, fleshy, silky and delicious on the palate. Finesse and charm, mouthfeel a fresh. Well-made and ready from today and through 2025+." (October 2020)

From Lawsons Dry Hills, Marlborough icon. From thirty five year old vines with trunks as thick as thighs, this unique wine embraces everything that is so good about Gewürztraminer. Hugely aromatic with a pronounced and pungent perfume, the ensuing palate is rich, weighty and oily with intense, lingering flavours of exotic fruits and spices. Haunting, unwavering and highly desirable.

This Gewurztraminer is from the company’s original vineyard, planted in 1982, that surrounds the winery. These unirrigated vines are deeply rooted in clay soils which help to give the wine intensity, weight and body, resulting in a rich, mouth-coating texture.

Mango, persimmon, lychee and marmalade produce a wonderfully complex nose. The palate is rich and round with great fruit concentration and intensity. This wine is medium in style and the sweetness is perfectly balanced by gentle acidity. Combined, these characters produce a complex, balanced and most importantly, delicious wine.
