91 Points Cameron Douglas MS
"Plush, ripe, soft and fruity core with aromas of sweet white fleshed orchard fruits, a spice and leesy aromatic layer. Crisp, fruity, fresh and just dry on the palate. Satin texture with flavours of apple and spicy pear, white peach and a moment of ginger spice. Well-made and ready. Best drinking from today and through 2024. November 2020 June 2021

A fantastic vintage has resulted in fragrant citrus, red apple and stone-fruit aromas followed by an off-dry, richly textured palate with fresh, bright fruit characters and a gentle acidity. Vineyards and viticulture This is from our two adjacent Waihopai vineyards. The soils in these blocks are a mixture of clay, gravel and silts. The clays provide lovely mouthfeel and weight to this wine.

2020 was an outstanding vintage so the grapes were picked at perfect ripeness, with great flavour and in wonderful condition.

The winemaking for this wine was very straight forward. The grapes were gently pressed and then fermented at cool temperatures to retain the naturally occurring, fresh fruit character. Fermentation was stopped with just a hint of residual sugar and the wine was bottled here at the winery.
