15.5/ 20 Raymond Chan (2015 review)

"Bright, very pale straw colour with the faintest hint of blush, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh and pure with delicate aromas of exotic white florals and honeysuckle that unfold with ethereal clarity. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours are fresh and light, with lifted white florals and elements of honey. This has sweet nuances and a rounded core, the palate underlined by some alcohol power. The wine is smooth-flowing, the delicate fruit succulence balanced by very fine drying textures, which carry the fruit to a moderately long, dry finish "

"Lynfer Estate is a family owned boutique vineyard committed to producing wines of integrity. The vineyard was established in 2000 with proven varieties and clones of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir vines. The 11 hectare site was carefully selected for its free draining stony silt loam soils, low annual rainfall, and the region's long summer months of warm days and cool nights - the hallmark for producing world class cool climate wines.Fruit has been harvested and supplied to two local wineries since 2003. The vineyard began producing wine under the Lynfer Estate label in 2009.Lynfer Estate is founded on the principles of integrity and commitment to winegrowing, the environment, and its customers."

Sometimes we come across something, special, different and a real deal!

Pinot Gris from a fantastic vintage, our tasting panel thought this was fab drinking and superb value. Aromas of russet apple, marzipan and bees wax, Dry, spicy on the pallet and pretty darn funky. Pour this for any knowledgable wine person an watch them be confused and amazed!.
