Bodega El Esteco's Coleccion range of wines expresses a prominent, "fruit forward" style, with pure varietal character and vineyard typicity. The goal is to produce elegant and complex wines for their category.

Each of the Coleccion range are sourced from entirely estate owned vineyards throughout the Cafayate Valley. Vineyards sit at elevations well above 3,000 feet with many sitting above 5,000 feet. The power of the sun at these elevations combined with very little moisture or pests leads to wines of unique purity and concentration.

Each wine in the Coleccion range presents the true character of the varietal. The wines are produced in a young, juicy style with minimal oak influence and just 5 months of aging in the cellar prior to bottling and release.

The 2016 Cabernet has blackberry, pepper and paprika aromas, with nut and toasty oak notes. In the mouth, there are red pepper, raspberry and blackcurrant flavors, with vanilla and tobacco notes from oak aging on the long finish.

I love this wine, but I am no wine specialist - it is easy to drink and my favorite winter tipple as it suits our food style - hearty warming and solid.

A good middle-of-the-road Cab Sav. Has enough complexity to satisfy the fussy tastes, and is easy on the palet for the rest of us lol. I like it, and I'm buying more. Good value for the rather low price

Having been a little 'underwhelmed' by the chardonnay by Michel Torino I wasn't sure what to expect of his Cabernet Sauvignon. I was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely spice and fruit on the nose followed by a gutsy hit of cherry on the palate with trace of cranberry. It finishes well with some nice savoury notes of pepper with a hint of smoke. I really enjoyed this and for the price it is one I will definitely be reordering. This would be perfect for the BBQ season.

Great red, bu beaten by the Malbec.  This is still better than a number of Aussie Cab Savs at the same price. Keep these bargains and secrets coming !!

Nice subtle peppery taste. Another nice wee beasty from Michel Torino stable. I don't think as good as other Michel Torino's I have tried but an OK Quaffer for the price. Might grow on me.
