GOLD - NZ Wine of the Year Awards 2019
4.5 STARS - Bob Campbell 2020
"Dense, elegant red with ripe berry, cassis, plum, cedar and spicy oak flavours. Beautifully structured with a core of sweet fruit balanced by gently drying tannins. Approachable now but with good cellaring potential. Great value at this price" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review

"Many classic aromas with blackberry, and dark plum, toasty dark spices of oak, Doris plums, dark cherry, clove and vanilla. On the palate - weighty, fruity, dark spices and medium+ acidity, firm tannins and flavours that reflect the dark red berries and stone fruits the nose suggests. Keen to to enjoy a toasted cheese sandwich or medium-rare loin of lamb with some green veges. A balanced, well made example with a palate concentration and flavours that will please many who like medium+ weighted red wine. Drink now and through 2024."

The 2018 Cabernet Merlot has an amazing 36% new oak, a blend of French and American hogsheads, in which the wine was aged for 12 months. A full and generous style, it's a perfect fireside or BBQ red in the summer.

A rich full bodied wine, this traditional blend exudes intense blackcurrant, blackberry and plum flavours, layered with caramel and spicy cedary oak.  Ageing in quality oak has conferred a velvety smooth texture, giving this wine immediate appeal, or for judicious cellaring.
