5 Stars Michael Cooper
"Superior to many $45 Pinot Noirs, the 2016 vintage is full of personality and an irresistible buy. Estate-grown at Waipara, it was hand-picked, mostly from vines planted in 2009, matured in French oak casks, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, it is highly fragrant, mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with generous cherry, plum, spice, herb and nut flavours, complex and savoury. A finely structured red, delicious now, it should also be drinking well up to 2023."

"Seductively complex and engaging, the wine shows sweet berry, smoked game, dried herb and toasted spice notes on the nose, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate is both elegant and flavoursome. It's silky, flowing and refined with gorgeous savoury nuances, finishing splendidly long and appealing. At its best: now to 2024."
