Not much of this iconic wine left!  from one of the best vintages.

Bin 28 offers a showcase of warm-climate Australian Shiraz – ripe, robust and generously flavoured. First made in 1959, Bin 28 is named after the famous Barossa Valley Kalimna Vineyard purchased by Penfolds in 1945 and from which the wine was originally sourced. Today, Bin 28 is a multi-region, multi-vineyard blend, with the Barossa Valley always well represented.

Peter Lehmann (Barossa) 2015 Hongell Single Vineyard Shiraz

Very limited - Our allocation is only 12 bottles
The 2015 VSV Hongell Shiraz is a powerful and distinctive wine. Fruit has been sourced from a small block of sustainable Shiraz vineyards grown by Ian and Daniela Hongell on the western ridge of the Barossa Valley. The vineyard sits on red brown earth over weathered ancient rock producing low-yielding fruit of rich intensity. The colour is bright with a deep crimson hue leading to a bouquet of dark plums and mixed spice. The palate displays a richness typical of Barossa Shiraz harnessed by ethereal tannins and well integrated oak. Dark plum and blackberry flavours give an incredible fruit intensity with a long finish.

Peter Lehmann (Eden Valley) 2013 Hearnden EV Single Vineyard Shiraz

Very limited - Our allocation is only 12 bottles
The outstanding 2013 vintage in Eden Valley has produced a single vineyard, limited release Shiraz with a deep, vibrant colour and a bouquet of dark plums with just a hint of chocolate and aniseed. The palate is richly structured with a firm, lingering finish and rarely do you see a Shiraz of this intensity from the high hills of Eden Valley. It is a wine that can be enjoyed in its vibrant youth but will certainly repay careful cellaring over the next 5-10 years.

Pierrick (France) Grand Balthazar 2017

Pierrick Harang is a winemaker with a difference. Having inherited his passion for winemaking from his oenologist father, Pierrick decided that the way forward for him was not to borrow heavily to purchase a winery and all the necessary equipment, but to use his skills to produce his own range of wines – in someone else's cellars. So Pierrick has an agreement with les Celliers Jean d'Alibert, whereby he makes their wines for them, but also vinifies his own wines in their winery. Pierrick's wines are modern and cleanly made, very much fruit-driven in style, with minimal use of oak.

Grenache, Syrah, Mouvedre & Merlot. Fermented individuality buy grape varieties in 500l oak barrels and pressed by (clean) feet. Aged in 300l barrels for 14 months after blending. Only 2000 bottles made. France wine. Elegance and freshness, intensity and richness.

Spade Oak Voysey (Hawkes Bay) 2017 Syrah

Classy Hermitage style Hawkes Bay syrah

4 Stars Raymond Chan

Modelled on traditional Hermitage from the Rhone Valley of France, this is a dry red Syrah, a bold wine, complex and muscular. Venison, beef, duck all cry out for this sort of wine. When the Cubans started rolling cigars, they had wines like this in mind too. Spicy with cedar and oak and the pepper you always find in Syrah. A small amount of Viognier has been blended in line with tradition.

Complex rustic, savory and earthy, spiced fruit scents of Raspberries. Black pepper corns and cedar oak. A richly layered palate with ripe red berry flavours and velvety tannins.

The Voysey range of wines are such good value for the quality on offer. This Syrah packs a punch but not with its price tag.
