4 ½ Stars - Michael Cooper (under original label)
"The 2017 vintage Is a very youthful, barrel-fermented wine (French oak barriques, 30 per cent new), well worth cellaring. Light lemon/green, it shows good complexity, with vibrant, peachy flavours, slightly smoky and toasty notes, excellent concentration and vigour, and a tightly structured, long finish. Best drinking 2020+."

4 Stars Cuisine Chardonnay Tasting - August 2019 (under original label)
"The Sileni were companions of Dionysus, the Greek god of good things including wine. This wine honours their desire to celebrate with its exuberant aromas of vanillin and rich, ripe fruit. The structure flirts with losing form yet the finesse of the acidity provides an elegant foil to the finish."

Satyr Kereru is the export label for Silenis' Lodge reserve Chardonnay. We were lucky enough to get hold of the only parcel of this wine left at a ridiculous price.

Top notch, Hawkes Bay, Reserve Chardonnay usually comes at a premium...and there is a reason...all the Fruit for this reserve wine is hand harvested and whole bunch pressed. The cloudy juice was then fermented in French oak barriques, with a mix of indigenous and inoculated yeasts. Following the primary and full malolactic fermentations, the wine is left to mature on gross lees in barrel for approximately ten months, prior to bottling.

This is a stunner! packed full of nutty, stonefruit, vannila oak aromas. Mouthfilling, showing apricot, peach and citrus. Beautiful creamy toasty oak and a zip of freshness.

This wine retails for up to a whopping $34.99.....!
