4 Stars Raymond Chan

"The nose is up-front and openly accessible with vibrant aromas showing dark cherry and raspberry fruit intermixed with blackberries, white and black pepper, and whole berry fermentation floral and confectionary nuances. This is fragrant and pretty in expression. Light-medium bodied, the palate has sweet and fragrant fruit flavours of dark-red cherries and raspberries, along with red florals, subtle notes of white pepper and whole berry confectionary elements"

Modelled on traditional Hermitage from the Rhone Valley of France, this is a dry red Syrah, a bold wine, complex and muscular. Venison, beef, duck all cry out for this sort of wine. When the Cubans started rolling cigars, they had wines like this in mind too. Spicy with cedar and oak and the pepper you always find in Syrah. A small amount of Viognier has been blended in line with tradition.

Complex rustic, savory and earthy, spiced fruit scents of Raspberries. Black pepper corns and cedar oak. A richly layered palate with ripe red berry flavours and velvety tannins.

The Voysey range of wines are such good value for the quality on offer. This Syrah packs a punch but not with its price tag.
