95 Points - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
"
Intensely aromatic and instantly appealing, the wine shows passionfruit, kiwifruit, jalapeno and lime zest aromas, followed by a powerfully expressed palate delivering terrific fruit power and persistency. It's punchy and vibrant with loads of delicious flavours. At its best: now to 2027." Sam Kim
4 Stars - Michael Cooper
"The 2023 vintage is very fresh and lively. Light lemon/green, it is medium to full-bodied, with very good depth of tropical fruit and herbaceous flavours, in a vigorous, strongly varietal style with a finely balanced, crisp, dry (2.4 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish." Micheal Cooper
93 Points - Candice Chow
"Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is fresh, packed with gooseberry, passionfruit, green capsicum, lime and blossom aromas. Medium-bodied, aromas of passionfruit lead the palate with lime, gooseberry, unfolding capsicum, green herb and delicate blossom. The fruit is vibrant with zingy acidity, carries lovely fruit weight and length. Match with steamed clams and battered sole fillet over the next 2-3 years." Candice Chow
85/100 - Decanter Magazine
"Light citrus and peach juice nose. Nicely balanced with lingering green fruit, citrus curd and kiwi fruit." Roger Jones, Freddy Bulmer, Cat Lomax

Classical Marlborough with aromas of grapefruit, lime, blackcurrant and tropical notes underscored with complexing hints of jalapeno and tomato leaf.

Pure and concentrated with flavours of white peach, boxwood, citrus and wet river stone. The palate is concentrated yet elegant with flavour density and a lingering, textured finish.

A perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood, summer salads, light poultry and goat’s cheese.

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
I am not a great Sauvignon Blanc drinker but found this to be quite refreshing and was lacking in acidity which was great. Like most good Sauvignon Blanc's its got that grassy flavour and the palate is packed with nice fruity flavours we had it chilled and on its own and I enjoyed. This wine is well priced.

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
When in the USA or Canada we look for NZ wines as their local wines do not seem to have the bight in flavour that ours have. They have not mastered the art of flavouring their wine to be tasted at the back of the tongue as well as the front and the nose of their wines is less compelling.

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
This is a lovely clean tasting Sav with loads of tropical fruit - especially gooseberry and passionfruit flavours. It smells divine. Our latest bottle we had with a tomato and pesto pasta dish. Normally I'd tend towards a Chardonnay for that sort of dish but this is such a robust Sauvignon that it made a pretty good match. Alternatively, a tasty or spicy salad would be a great match. (Inexplicably I also had a bottle of the 2010 vintage of this wine, and despite drinking it in 2014 it was still fantastic). From an aesthetics point of view, the bottle and label design looks great with white linen and silver cutlery. A classy wee Sav.

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
I'm not the SB fan in this family however Mrs Action Hero reported this one very enjoyable with a clean crisp SB nose and after taste, she allowed me a wee sip so I could honestly write this review, so who am I to contradict my darling wife, after all she enjoyed the whole bottle and asked if there was any more, so what better recommendation does one need to buy another case and earn the browny points???

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
Firstly. I am not a fan of Sauvignon Blanc so I shared this with some friends who are and they liked it. The nose is quite grassy (more silage than freshly mown) but not unpleasant. The palate is packed with gooseberry and a little stone fruit. The finish is a bit short and it lacks that acidity which is what I usually dislike in a Sauvignon Blanc so for me that was a positive but I'm not sure SB fans would feel the same. I would rate it 3/5 but the others said 4.

Whitehaven (Marlborough) 2023 Sauvignon Blanc
Young, but definitely a Sauvignon blanc, with that characteristic grassy flavour. A drank it on its own, not chilled. I think a few months older, slightly chilled and with the right food, the experience would have been more enjoyable. Not sure if its worth the extra dollars, maybe the Waipipi would be better. (Or buy both and compare!)
