Vinterra (Waipara) Chardonnay 2018

Another cancelled export deal in the bag, great news for you!

Chardonnay drinkers listen up....The Vinterra Chardonnay made primarily for the british market, we tried it, loved it and bought it up.

Made by Sherwood Estate in the Waipara, North Canterbury. Over 30 years of winegrowing, Dayne and Jill Sherwood of Sherwood Estate are some of the country’s most experienced wine producers. Still independent and family owned, Sherwood consists of over 50 ha of vineyards in North Canterbury. Over half of the production is exported to over 25 countries. The highly respected and very experienced Petter Evans oversees the winemaking.

This 2018 is part of Sherwoods export range, as soon as our tasting panel poured this we knew it was a winner.

It has bags of personality, for a wine at this level, Complex nose showing, concentrated savoury notes of warm citrus, nuttiness, yeasty, oaky loveliness. Mouthfilling and juicy on the palate, well balanced and backed by sophisticated flinty character. This Chardonnay will knock your socks off!

Los Árboles is a range of young wines produced by Navarro Correas of Mendoza. These wines are always expressive of their variety with a particularly smooth character and expressive aromas. The name is inspired by the guardian poplars that shelter the vineyards from the strong winds coming from the Andes mountains.

This is an outstanding Chardonnay which typifies the incredible value-for-money on offer from the Mendoza region. Aging of 50% of the wine is conducted in French oak barrels, while the remaining 50% is kept in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place for 50% of the wine. A golden yellow wine with aromas and flavors of citrus, apples and apricots and a fresh, fruity finish.
