Ca’di Ponti (Sicily Italy) DOC 2021 Nero d’Avola

A deeply coloured, full-flavoured red with aromas of wild plum and black cherry. The palate combines abundant brambly fruit flavours with lightly spicy and savoury notes, a hint of bitter chocolate and chewy, ripe tannins.

Drink with juicy home-made burgers with a slab of mozarella, or charred lamb steak

Italia (Abruzzo Italy) 2022 DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Aromas and plum and black cherry with a hint of spice. The palate combines ripe, redcurrant and blackberry fruit with a bright, savoury finish.

Produced from selected parcels of Montepulciano grapes grown in the Chieti province of Abruzzo, on southeast Italy’s Adriatic coast. Hand-harvested from low-yielding 30-50 year old vines. Fermentation takes place in small batches at 28-30ºC, with daily pumping over, and the skins are left in contact with the fermenting wine for 10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to Adria’s cellars for a brief maturation prior to bottling.

Match with pasta dishes with meat or tomato sauces, pizza, grilled and barbecued meats.

Italia (Puglia Italy) 2021 IGT Primitivo

A warm, richly flavoured red with aromas of plums, dried fruits and brown spices. On the palate it's generous with good concentration of ripe plum and black cherry fruit and hints of dried figs, liquorice and dark chocolate. All balanced by fresh acidity.

Drink with grilled meats or pasta dishes with meat or spicy sauces.

Italia (Puglia Italy) 2022 IGT Sangiovese

A medium bodied, everyday drinking red with aromas of red berry and damson fruit. Fresh and lively on the palate with ripe berry fruit balanced by tangy acidity and quite firm tannins leading to a warm, spicy finish.

Fermentation took place at 28 to 30C with 10 days on the skins and daily pumping over. After malolactic fermentation the wine was transferred to Adria’s cellars where it is bottled.

Ideal with simple pasta tossed in butter and Parmesan or with tomato based sauces

South African Cinsault. Orginallly from the Rhone Valley region, France. South African Cinsault is proving a force to be reckoned with and popular in Europe and the USA. Think Pinot Noir esque yet more red fruits on the flavour profile. The wine shows delicate flavours of ripe cherries, olives and peppery spice as well as a hint of Turkish Delight. Despite its delicacy, the palate is firm and concentrated with fine dry tannins.

An extremely versatile food wine that compliments everything from shellfish to white meats and on to aged cheeses.

Te Mata Estate (Hawkes Bay) 2023 Gamay Noir

Gamay Noir, the grape made famous in Beaujolais, produces a light bodied red wine bursting with crushed red berry characters.

The unique ‘maceration carbonique’ fermentation, which enhances the fruit and floral aromas of the wine, was used for 65% of the grapes. The other 35% received a traditional, warm, red wine fermentation. The resulting wines completed their malolactic fermentation and were matured for nine weeks in seasoned French oak barrels, before blending and bottling

Candy-apple red and edged in royal purple, Estate Gamay Noir ’21 is bursting with raspberry, Turkish delight, blueberry, wild strawberry, and ripe, black cherry. Its superfloral, red-fruit presence is balanced by subtle notes of smoke, liquorice, sandalwood, and cinnamon. A gorgeous line of bright acidity runs the length of the wine, giving incredible freshness and persistence. A supreme example, Estate Gamay Noir ’21 captivates and refreshes at the same time.
