Don David (Argentina) 2018 Reserve Torrontes

88 Points - Wine Enthusiast
91 Points - James Suckling

If you want a wine adventure that won't disappoint, try Torrontes!

Torrontes is THE white wine of Argentina and this is a sublime example of the variety.  The colour is intense and bright yellow with golden edges. It has delicate aromas with flower presence, mainly roses. Orange notes blend together with toasted bread due to the touch of oak. The taste is pure finesse and elegance with a hint of the exotic. Good acidity with the freshness of citrus.

This wine matches well with Asian food of course, but also try it with smoked meats and seafood.  It is a wonderfully versatile wine.

4 Stars - Cuisine Specialty Whites Tasting, October 2020 (2019 Vintage)

This is a stunning example of Chenin Blanc, a classic Loire valley grape.

"This is a rich and full-bodied style of Chenin Blanc. It showcases the yellow fruit nature of Chenin Blanc, with notes of pineapple, quince and honey evident. The wine is complex with a small amount of residual sugar providing richness in a Vouvray demi-sec style. Delicious as a young wine, the wine will also gain further complexity with time in the bottle."

Misty Cove (Marlborough) Landmark 2020 Gruner Veltliner

94 Points and 5 Stars - Sam Kim

Misty Cove’s Landmark Grüner Veltliner is deeply influenced by old world winemaking techniques. Lovingly handcrafted with small batch qualities, Misty Cove crafted this wine to reflect the “Landmark” – the attributes and characteristics of the Fareham Lane vineyard from which it originated.

Gruner-velt-leener or Gruner for short is pretty trendy around these parts at the moment. Native to Austria but a few skilled New Zealand winemakers are carving out their own style.

A fleshy style of white, brimming with stone fruit, lime flowers and zippy freshness.
