This is an instant stunner with its plum, dark berry fruit appeal but still emphasizing its cooler growing conditions by not exhibiting overly ripe or aggressive tannins. On the palate it has wonderful intensity with very careful handling of oak which allows its typical terroir and natural characters of the wine to come through.

This is an excellent partner for a Sunday roast or BBQ lamb. Drink now or cellar for the next 2-3 years.

5 Stars, 98/100 - Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review

Te Mata are calling this a  "fairytale vintage" showing both power and grace. Described as "Beauty and the Beast, capturing a new depth and power, with an exquisite perfume, and spellbinding enchantment."

Surely one for collectors, if you manage to get some.....

Midnight-dark ruby shimmers with a magenta edge. Coleraine ’19 is heralded by fragrant black roses, cherry, bramble, raspberry syrup and woodsmoke. A kiss of wild strawberry and dark chocolate transforms into a seductive palate laden with dark, ripe, forest berries. Majestic, velvet tannin entwines with the brightness and purity of classic Coleraine in a tale as old as time, creating captivating length and balance.
