Michel Torino (Argentina) 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

Each of the Coleccion range are sourced from entirely estate owned vineyards throughout the Cafayate Valley. Vineyards sit at elevations well above 3,000 feet with many sitting above 5,000 feet. The power of the sun at these elevations combined with very little moisture or pests leads to wines of unique purity and concentration. 

The 2016 Cabernet has blackberry, pepper and paprika aromas, with nut and toasty oak notes. In the mouth, there are red pepper, raspberry and blackcurrant flavors, with vanilla and tobacco notes from oak aging on the long finish.

Amaru Cabernet Sauvignon is a unique wine oriented to have a perfect balance between the fruity characteristic aromas and the oak, delivering finesse and complexity. Concentrated grapes, with medium and small grains are carefully chosen and quickly transferred to the winery to start with the elaboration process. Pre-fermentative macerations at 8 degrees in stainless steal tanks, and gently treatments during alcoholic fermentation are carried out. Utilization of both native and selected yeasts for the fermentation process. Post fermentative macerations, totalizing a maximum of 30 days. Malolactic fermentation in contact with oak. 70% of the wine is aged for 9 months in French and American oak barrels. The final blend is made with the extra 30% preserved in stainless steel tanks.

This is the Estate wine from Chateau Lalande. Cabardes is a small appellation in the hills behind Carcassonne, within the Languedoc region. A rich and ripe blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet and Merlot.

Beautifully balanced between concentration and freshness. A good expression of the Syrah with mild spice flavours. The Merlot gives a cherry aroma, along with notes of blackberry, black currant and hints of soft oak. An intense, elegant, medium to long finish, with a hint of vanilla and cacao

2012 was rated  outstanding

215 Hectares Located in Pennautier near Carcassonne, Chateau Lalande benefits from a terroir which combines clay-limestone soils, the Mediterranean heat, an Atlantic influence and the coolness of the mountains. The vines are planted on the sloping hills opposite each other. Thus one part of domain is oriented to the West, the other to the East and South East. In the South the canal forms a natural border to the Domain.

Chateau La Lalande is steeped in history, dating back over 300 hundred years. This is a blend of Syrah, Grenach, Merlot and Cabernet. Hand selected and 60% is aged in French Oak. Small production, only 2800 bottles were made.

Cassis, currant and fine tobacco notes, tightly bound tannin and concentrated on the palate, leaving a hint of vanilla in the finish.
