Lalande AOP (France) Reserve 2012

Great wine from a top rated vintage.

2012 was rated  outstanding

215 Hectares Located in Pennautier near Carcassonne, Chateau Lalande benefits from a terroir which combines clay-limestone soils, the Mediterranean heat, an Atlantic influence and the coolness of the mountains. The vines are planted on the sloping hills opposite each other. Thus one part of domain is oriented to the West, the other to the East and South East. In the South the canal forms a natural border to the Domain.

Chateau La Lalande is steeped in history, dating back over 300 hundred years. This is a blend of Syrah, Grenach, Merlot and Cabernet. Hand selected and 60% is aged in French Oak. Small production, only 2800 bottles were made.

Cassis, currant and fine tobacco notes, tightly bound tannin and concentrated on the palate, leaving a hint of vanilla in the finish.
