4 Stars & 17+/20 pts - Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
"Moderately deep ruby-red, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with deep aromas of blackberry, plum interweaving a whiff of smoke and a hint of spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of blackberry and plum enriched by smoky chocolate and a hint of pepper. The fruit is youthful and bright with a good balance of ripeness; lively acidity lightened up the rich, smoky palate. This juicy, youthful Pinotage shows vibrant blackberry and plum with rich, smoky elements on a supple tannin palate. Match with grilled lamb and beef over the next 3 years."

Exclusive import

Winesale is thrilled to offer the Cape Heights range from Swartland, Western Cape of South Africa.

A Pinot Noir and Cinsault hybrid; Pinotage, South Africas signature red. Typically produces red wines with bramble fruit flavour, smoky spices, sweet tannins and Medium to full body.

Approachable and vibrant and packed with damson and dark berry fruit. The palate is rich and full flavoured with a hint of black pepper and star anise

Fruit is selected from vineyards in the Swartland, grown on rich granite and shale soils. Harvested at optimum ripeness to ensure fruit driven notes and soft tannins, the grapes are crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks at 17-22 degrees C. Pump-over takes place twice daily to wet the cap and aerate the fermenting wine and once daily at the end of fermentation not to extract to much tannins. This ensures soft tannins and no-over extraction of any harsh tannins. Malo-lactic fermentation follows and the wine is kept on the lees until bottling to ensure great mouth feel.

Try with Marinated lamb, chargrilled aubergine or portobello mushrooms.
