Joelle Thomson
“Nero d’Avola literally translates as the black grape of Avola; a town in eastern Sicily. This is incredibly good value for money - utterly delicious. Black, spicy, fruity flavours combine a too-drinkable, very affordable wine.” Joelle Thomson (2016 vintage)

This unassuming little red wine from Sicily is packed full of black fruit flavour, hefty structure and laden with sweet spices. It also ages fantastically well.

Matured in vats for six months and in barriques for at least three months.

Delicately scented Sicilian red, with red fruits and hints of spices with notes of cherry and vanilla. TASTE: Floral / violet, black cherry, savoury /meaty flavours supported by spicy oak and ripe tannins. Dry, mellow with good structure.

If you like Cabernet, Syrah or other tannic wonders try this Sicilian varietal.
