A great example of this classic Italian grape. Sangiovese or "San-jo-vay-say"

Farnese are a serious force to be reckoned with, winning Italian PRODUCER OF YEAR for 3 YEARS RUNNING by  by Luca Maroni. Italy's most important wine writer. They have a number of brands under thier umberella but Fantini is the Flagship label.

The Fantini vineyards are located on the hillside and stretch from the sea to a soaring 9,843 feet. The vineyards enjoy optimum exposure and an excellent microclimate which explains why the grapes grow so well in this area.

Garnet red in colour and intense on the nose with vibrant red fruit, cherries and herbal characters. On the palate, it has bright fruity notes of strawberry and morello cherry, with subtle vanilla characters from the oak. The wine is well balanced and medium-bodied with structured, firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish.
