Sensational Small Batch Marlborough Pinot Noir is normally only available in Australia but Giesen have decided to release a small amount on to the NZ market. The Small Batch collection was created after the Giesen Winemakers discovered small parcels of outstanding quality fruit which they knew would make excellent wine.

The best parcels of fruit from the Southern Valleys are managed in small batches, with a portion receiving whole bunch fermentation. A “hands-off” approach is used to retain colour and allow the fruit to showcase distinct Marlborough Pinot Noir character. The wine is aged in a mix of new and old French oak 300L barriques from Giesen’s French cooper - chosen because it gives a unique style which helps to lengthen the wine.

An elegant and balanced Marlborough Pinot Noir, with silken cherry and plum, overlaid by gentle spice and wrapped up with fine tannins. 

A perfect match for seared venison served with a cherry jus and roasted seasonal vegetables.
