A fragrant expression - with aromas of red peppercorn and plum, raspberry and wood spice, some pepper and barrel toast brown spices. On the palate - a dry wine with flavours of red cherry and raspberry, red plum and sweet peppercorn, calm yet well managed oak spice and fine tannins. Medium+ acidity, no mistaking that this is Syrah. Balanced and well made in a drink now style. Best from today and through 2023.

"It's delightfully ripe and elegantly perfumed on the nose showing dark cherry, dried herb, warm spice and cedar characters. The medium-full-bodied palate is succulent and supple with beautifully rounded mouthfeel and fine-grained tannins, leading to a lengthy silky finish. It's flavoursome and polished, offering gorgeous drinking."

Little X Syrah is made by Tim Adams, former red winemaker at Astrolabe Wines in Marlborough. Now his own personal venture with some delicious Hawkes Bay Fruit. The vineyard is located on Ohiti Road in the Ohiti Valley. 10 year old MS Syrah makes up the single vineyard. Hand picked, small batch fermented. Produced with minimal inputs and handling. Bottled unfined and unfiltered

This is stonkingly good value! From an awesome vintage and it shows. A meaty little Hawkes bay Syrah with some guts. Packed full of flavour showing plummy fruit and savoury spices.
