93 Points Rated Excellent - Cam Douglas
"Dark fruited, spicy and toasty with aromas of blackcurrant and licorice, pepper and baking spices of clove and vanilla. On the palate - varietal, youthful, fresh, firm textured and fruity. Flavours of dark berries and black currant layered with peppery spice and oak. Firm tannins and plenty of acidity keep the texture tense. A wine for the cellar till late 2021 then decant for service. Best from 2022 through 2029+. Needs time."

Moana Park, Hawkes Bay have been making wines for 20 odd years. All wines are Vegan Friendly and made with minimal sulphur added.

Very dark, deep, black-hued purple-ruby colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is elegant with concentrated, ripe aromas of black berry and raspberry fruits, with lifted dark red florals, Asian spices and black pepper. The nose grows in volume with aeration. Medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, vibrantly rich and ripe, succulently sweet fruit flavours of dark raspberries, boysenberries, black pepper and iron-earth are enriched and enlivened by fresh acidity.

Fruit from a single vineyard on the company’s Gimblett ‘Onewa’ site. Matured over 18 months in French oak barriques.

Serve with roasted and grilled lamb, beef and venison over the next 5-6+ years.
