91 Points - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Opulent, fragrant, and beautifully full-bodied. Indulge in a truly luxurious Marlborough Pinot Noir. The OTU 2023 vintage opens with an aromatic burst of luscious strawberry and elegant cedar notes leaping from the glass. On the palate, it delivers a plush, velvety wave of ripe red plum and dark cherry, underpinned by sophisticated, sinuous savory hints of mushroom and background oak.

Crafted from fruit harvested at peak seasonal timing, the wine was fermented in open-top tanks, hand-plunged during a 20-day maceration, and aged for 8 months in a selection of new and seasoned French oak barriques. It is absolutely sensational to drink right now, but will beautifully develop deeper savory characteristics over the next five years with careful cellaring.

The Nose: Vibrant strawberry aromas seamlessly intertwined with elegant cedar.

The Palate: A full-bodied and opulent profile of plush cherries and ripe plum, balanced by a savory, earthy complexity.

The Finish: Smooth and sustained, with a wonderfully integrated hint of French oak.

This opulent, savory Pinot Noir is the ultimate partner for a classic pan-seared duck breast or a wild mushroom risotto, where the wine's plush cherry fruit and subtle cedar notes beautifully complement the rich, earthy flavors.
