The countryside around San Marzano, in the North of Salento, close to the Ionian arc. At almost 100 m above sea level, with high average temperature and little rainfall during the year. The soils are mainly composed of clay and characterized by a good presence of limestone, a reddish- brown colour and a very low depth. We are in the heart of the so-called terra rossa (red soil) land.

Deep ruby red with purple reflections; Aroma: intense and wide to the nose; Good structure, soft and balanced. Good with savoury first courses, red meat and game, mature cheese.

Primitivo from southern Italy is THE choice for a winter red. Concentrated black fruit, warm savoury spice, soft but structured tannins. It is in fact the same variety as Zinfandel in AUS or the U.S. Perfect for a chilly night in!
