"Certified organic, the 2018 vintage (4*) was grown in three vineyards and partly (50 per cent) matured for five months in French oak barrels. Designed for early consumption, it is deep ruby, with a fresh, spicy bouquet. Medium-bodied, with very good depth of plummy, spicy flavours, showing some savoury complexity, it’s a harmonious, supple, age-worthy red, that many Pinot Noir lovers would enjoy. "Really attractive bouquet with aromas of dark raspberry and fresh black currant, violet and blue fruits, fresh black pepper and brown wood spices. On the palate - firm textures with abundant tannins and a back bone of acidity, flavours of dark berries reflect the nose then clove and and toasty wood flavours then pepper. Balanced and well made, firm, youthful and fresh. Best drinking from early 2021 through 2025" Cameron Douglas

Stonecroft are a fabulous, boutique and organic producer based in the Hawkes Bay. Purchasing sites formerly owned by top wineries in the Gimblett Gravels area in Hawke’s Bay, which holds some of this country’s oldest Syrah vines. The vines are now 34 years old and the Estate produces, arguably, some the finest Syrah wines in the country.

This Syrah blew us away and it was interesting to note how it evolved beautifully over three days after opening. This is a very grown up wine, offering serious bang for your money!

Fragrant aromas of blackberry fruit and raspberries, along with subtle notes of fresh herbs, violet florals and a sprinkling of black and white pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in style. A tight core with flavours of raspberries and blackberries, violets and dried herbs. Juicy and lush fruit, balanced by light, supple tannins.
