90 Points - 2022 Halliday Wine companion

Zilzie wines is an award winning winery, most recently gaining a 5 star winery award from James haliday's Wine Companion. Family owned and now in the 4th generation with brothers Andrew and Steven Forbes managing the winery. The estate holds around 1700 acres under vine first established in the 80's. The winery is based in Victoria however they hold vineyards in some of Australia's best known regions including; Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Coonawarra, and Yarra Valley. 

The fruit was harvested when the temperature was coolest to retain maximum fruit flavour and freshness. The juice was cool fermented in stainless steel with a neutral yeast strain to bring out the inherent varietal flavours. The wine was held on yeast lees to preserve freshness and soen the palate. After secondary fermentation, the wine was botled to retain the natural carbon dioxide resulting in a refreshing spritz.

Pale straw with green hues and a persistent fine bead. Aromas, Beautiful so spring blossom. Palate. Lively fresh pomello with a creamy mousse and a zesty crisp finish.
