Classed by fellow distillers as a 'First Grade Highland' Glen Elgin still believes in taking its own hand-crafted approach to whisky making. Glen Elgin is an unusually distinctive Speyside single malt, from a little known traditional distillery 10 miles south of where the river Lossie meets the sea and about 40 miles east of Inverness.
Initial taste is malty, with elusive fruity characters. Full-bodied, soft, and honeyed in the mouth, with ginger and orange notes. The finish is lengthy and slightly perfumed, with spicy oak. Smooth and rich from beginning to end.
